Two landlubbers who have learned how to sail, and now plan to see the world! Jerry Simpson is a retired Oklahoma Highway Patrol Major after 27 years. Robert Brawner has retired from Texaco/Shell after 17 years with the company, and provides the "brawn" for handling the boat! First mate Maggie (the intrepid Bassett Hound) provides moral support, and most importantly, neverending entertainment.

New York, New York

We made it to New York and took in a Broadway play, "Wicked". Excellent. We hooked up with one of Jerry's old FBINA associates and his beautiful wife, Jon and Maritza Tooke. Jon is an Inspector with Jersey City Police Department, and Maritza has the enviable job of working in a bookstore. (Jerry has always had a secret passion to do that!)

Robert received news of his brother Kelvin's passing and will be flying to Oklahoma for services on Tuesday, October 9.

We plan to start south again on Thursday, October 11. The people of New York and New Jersey have been wonderful, and we look forward to returning.

The photos are of Lady Liberty and a tall ship we met on New York Harbor.
